Jennifer L Theriot
Born and raised in Tennessee, Jennifer L Theriot grew up with a love of history and a passion for uncovering the past that is innate to the tangible. With an initial interest in archaeology, history was a primary focus throughout her formative school years. Art, and the practice and appreciation of, were also fundamental interests. While attending college, she discovered Art History and a true passion arose. Instantly hooked with the first Introduction to Art History class, she since earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a Major in Art History from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 2013.
After graduating, Jennifer went out to find a means of marrying her love of tangible objects from the past and Art History into a career. She first flirted with antiquing and thrifting, finding wonderful treasures in the wild, then marketing those finds for sale at local antiques and collectibles shops in the Knoxville area as a booth operator. The antiques, vintage and collectibles resale industry led to an opportunity in live and online auctions where she soon found herself applying her passion and skills by contributing through a wide variety of roles to a burgeoning start-up auction house that would become one of the top local auction houses in the area.
Throughout her years in the industry, Jennifer has had the chance to see first-hand what the value of items go for at auction. So when the opportunity arose to attain a professional designation in appraisals, she took it! In 2022, Jennifer attended the National Auctioneer’s Association (NAA) Designation Academy earning a professional designation as a Graduate Personal Property Appraiser (GPPA). A long-time dream of becoming an appraisal was made true and she added a unique skill that is valued in the industry.
With the fundamentals of an Art History degree, over a decade of exploring antiques, vintage, and collectibles and learning the ins and outs of the Auction industry for eight years, the time had come to take the small business journey. Jennifer in partnership with her husband, Bryon, decided it was time to use their Passion, Integrity, and Expertise to launch their own online auction and appraisal company with a goal to provide the highest quality of service possible to the people of Knoxville and the surrounding area. In 2023, Primrose Auctions & Appraisals LLC was founded to bring customers the best online auction and appraisals service available.
